How to Play
Vijf Letters
Vijf Letters is the Dutch-language counterpart of Five Letter Word, in the same Wordle style. Guess today's secret Dutch five-letter word within six tries, using color feedback after every guess to narrow it down.
Rules

- Type any real five-letter Dutch word and submit it as your guess.
- Green means that letter is correct and in the right position.
- Yellow means that letter is in the word, but in a different position.
- Gray means that letter isn't in the word at all.
- You have six guesses to find the word. The word is always in Dutch, no matter which language you've set for the site.
Tips & Strategy
- Open with a word that has several different common vowels and consonants. It tells you the most for your next guess.
- Don't reuse a gray letter in later guesses. A yellow letter is still in the word, so try it in a different position.
- Dutch words often contain double vowels ("aa", "oo", "ee"). Keep that in mind when a guess shows an unexpected repeat.
- Once you have several green letters, use your last one or two guesses to solve the word rather than testing more letters.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Vijf Letters the same puzzle as Five Letter Word?
- It's a separate daily puzzle with its own Dutch word list. The mechanic is the same as in Five Letter Word, but the word (and every accepted guess) is always Dutch.
- Can I play Vijf Letters if the site is set to English?
- Yes. The site's interface language and the puzzle's language are independent. Vijf Letters is always in Dutch, no matter which language you've picked for the site.
- Does Vijf Letters affect my ranked leaderboard position?
- No. Like Five Letter Word, Vijf Letters is a relaxed game with no ranked leaderboard and no points. At the end you see how many attempts it took, or the word if you ran out of guesses.
