If you search for Halloween puzzle games, you mostly find word searches to print. Here is something different: free logic puzzles you can play in your browser, which get a spooky look during Halloween week.
What changes in Halloween week
In the week around 31 October (this year Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November) some of the daily puzzles on PuzzleDose wear a costume. The rules stay exactly the same, only the artwork changes.
- Binario swaps its star and planet for a ghost and a pumpkin. Fill every square with one of the two, never put more than two of the same next to each other, and give every row and column as many ghosts as pumpkins.
- Crowns puts a witch hat where the crown goes. You still place one in every row, column and colored region, with none touching.
- Traffic Escape dresses up the red car you slide towards the exit.
- Five Letter Word and Vijf Letters show their letters in a spooky font.
A quick tip for the ghosts and pumpkins
Whenever you see two ghosts side by side, the squares on both sides of them must be pumpkins, because three of the same in a row is not allowed. Add counting (a row can only hold half of each) and most grids fall apart without a single guess.
For a longer, darker evening
A look that is not changed but fits the mood is Whodunit: a murder mystery solved with logic only. Every suspect has a weapon and a place, and a list of clues is all you get. Cross out what cannot be true until one answer is left for everyone.
A secret for the brave
There is also a secret Halloween achievement. We will not say exactly how to earn it, only that it has to do with the date. It comes with a spooky profile frame, which makes it worth hunting for.
